From July 6th to 10th, Son La Provincial General Hospital in coordination with Son La Department of Health and the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Children with Disabilities (Center II) organized a program of free examination, consultation, and surgery for children with disabilities in the province.
During the program, more than 500 children will be examined and given in-depth advice on motor disabilities, dental, maxillofacial, ear, nose, throat, eyes, urology...
Through screening, about 180 eligible cases were consulted, operated on and treated free of charge by doctors of Son La Provincial General Hospital and experts from central-level hospitals and Times International General Hospital.
Children who are examined and indicated for surgery will be supported with travel and accommodation costs during treatment. All funding is mobilized from socialized sources of organizations, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside the province.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nham, Deputy Director of Son La Department of Health, said that the program brings free examination, treatment and surgery opportunities for children with disabilities in the province. At the same time, the program contributes to improving the professional capacity of the local health team through technical transfer activities and coordination with leading experts.
Ms. Lo Thi Ban, Chieng So commune, whose child has had mobility disabilities for many years, shared that her family is in difficult circumstances, so she brought her child to be examined with the hope that her child will have free surgery to have conditions to study and integrate with friends.
On this occasion, JMB Vietnam Company and Big Yes Company presented 300 gifts including cakes, candies, milk; Vietnam Dairy Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) donated 200 packs of milk; Moc Chau Dairy Cow Breed Joint Stock Company donated 240 packs of milk to children participating in the program.
This is an annual activity with humanistic meaning, contributing to improving the quality of care and treatment for children with disabilities and spreading the spirit of sharing and responsibility for the community.
