On August 29, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province announced that it has a plan to adjust malaria prevention, control and elimination activities in 2025, to ensure that activities are implemented continuously and without interruption when the 2-level government model officially comes into operation.
Currently, Khanh Hoa has 8 communes and wards in the malaria prevention and control phase; 15 communes and wards are meeting the exclusion criteria; and 41 communes and wards are in the malaria prevention phase.
According to the plan, the goal set for 2025 is to: reduce 90% of malaria cases in communes and wards in the prevention and control stage compared to 2024; recognize 15 more communes and wards meeting the criteria for eliminating malaria; at the same time, maintain elimination results in 41 communes and wards that have been recognized.
The province also aims to ensure that 100% of malaria patients, people suspected and people at risk of the disease have access to early diagnosis, timely and safe treatment services.
From 90% or more of people traveling on the road (going to the forest, fields) will have their blood taken and tested quickly to detect malaria parasites; 100% of people infected with malaria parasites will be treated with drugs in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health.
The plan also proposes many synchronous solutions such as: raising public awareness, strictly managing ethnic groups and fluctuations, strengthening epidemic monitoring at the grassroots level, applying scientific research in malaria prevention and control.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Health to preside over, monitor, supervise, summarize and summarize the implementation results.
