One of the specific goals of the plan is that by 2030, the rate of people with high-risk behaviors in the province will have access to HIV infection prevention services will reach 80%; the rate of people infected with HIV who know their HIV status will reach 95%.
The development of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in high-risk groups is closely monitored. The quality of HIV/AIDS treatment has been expanded and improved; the rate of people infected with HIV who know their HIV status and are treated with HIV ant down to 95%; the rate of people treated with HIV ant down to virus loads below the suppression threshold reached 95%; the rate of HIV transmission from mother to child is below 2%...
To ensure the completion of the above goals, the plan sets out specific tasks, solutions and activities, in which it will continue to promote and innovate communication activities and preventive interventions for HIV infection prevention, especially for high-risk groups and key epidemic areas.
Expanding the treatment of drug addicts with alternative drugs; expanding PrEP treatment; diversifying HIV testing services at medical facilities, in the community, mobile testing and HIV self-tests. Establish a disease monitoring system from the time of detection of HIV infection. Expanding and ensuring the quality of HIV/AIDS treatment; ARV treatment for people infected with HIV immediately after being diagnosed. Decentralize and integrate HIV/AIDS treatment services into the medical examination and treatment system.
By the end of 2024, the number of new HIV infections in Khanh Hoa province was 143, an increase of 9.2% over the same period in 2023 (131 cases); the number of new AIDS patients was 6 cases, the number of deaths from AIDS was 53 cases.
Accumulated by December 14, 2024, the number of HIV infections detected was 2,890; the number of people infected with HIV/AIDS who have died was 1,382; there are 1,500 cases that are still alive and managed in localities. The rate of people infected with HIV in the province accounts for 0.22% of the population (2,890 HIV/AIDS cases compared to the population of 1,269,747).
