On June 27, Bac Quang Binh General Hospital said that the pregnant woman B.T.Q (41 years old, residing in Quang Phuong commune, Quang Trach district) was admitted to the hospital with a ruptured amniotic fluid, severe headache, dizziness, severe high blood pressure and mild edema in both legs.
The results of the emergency examination showed that the mother had severe preeclampsia, monitored HELLP syndrome, dangerous complications that can lead to seizures, blood clotting disorder, threatening the lives of both mother and fetus.
Recognizing the emergency situation as particularly serious, the hospital immediately activated an internal red alert, mobilized human resources and equipment from obstetrics and gynecology departments, resuscitated, anesthesia resuscitation to coordinate emergency care. The mother was given oxygen therapy, given a quick blood pressure lowerer, prevented from seizures, and connected to a monitor to continuously monitor.
Anesthists had to develop a special regimen to control the risk of blood clotting disorder before performing emergency catching surgery at night. After successfully handling the stress and surgery, the mother and baby safely passed the "death door".
Currently, the health of pregnant women and newborns is stable and continue to receive intensive care. According to the records, Ms. Q was pregnant for the fourth time but only monitored her health at home and did not go to a specialized medical facility for regular check-ups. Only when unusual signs appeared did the family take her to the hospital.
Doctors recommend that pregnant women, especially older women with a history of complicated obstetrics and gynecology, need to have a full examination and pregnancy management to detect dangerous complications early.
