2. Rich in fiber
Pecans are rich in fiber, which helps keep blood sugar levels stable. Fiber helps slow the breakdown and release of carbohydrates into the bloodstream, helping to prevent blood sugar spikes, says nutritionist Annette Snyder, of Top Nutrition Coaching.
3. Provide some protein
Protein breaks down into amino acids, which have a minimal impact on blood sugar levels. Eating 30 grams of pecans contains about 2.5 grams of protein, making them a good addition to other protein-rich foods in your daily diet.
