Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatches No. 40/CD-TTg, 41/CD-TTg, 55/CD-TTg and most recently Official Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg dated May 15, 2025, the Ministry of Health has issued a document requesting the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to organize a peak period from May 15 to June 15, 2025 to fight against the production and trading of counterfeit goods in the health sector.
Accordingly, the People's Committees of localities need to direct competent agencies to urgently launch a peak period of inspection and handling of smuggling, trade fraud, and infringement of intellectual property rights for items such as drugs, cosmetics, health protection foods, medical equipment, and chemicals used in medicine and daily life. The implementation results will be reported to the Ministry of Health before June 20, 2025.
The Ministry of Health also emphasized the need to continue to seriously implement previous telegrams related to cases of fake milk, fake drugs, and health protection foods of unknown origin. Localities need to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Health to implement Plan 614/KH-BYT dated May 13, 2025 on the implementation of the above-mentioned telegrams.
In addition to strengthening inspection and handling, the Ministry of Health recommends that localities direct agencies such as Steering Committee 389, Public Security, Market Management, Health... to promote the reception and handling of information on criminal denunciations, communication to raise public awareness, tighten management of conditional business lines in the health sector. At the same time, scientists and managers are required not to advertise false or exaggerate the use of products if there is no sufficient scientific basis and legal documents.
The Ministry of Health also pays special attention to the personal responsibility of cadres, civil servants and public employees in performing their duties. All violations will be strictly handled, the head of the provincial People's Committee must be responsible to the Prime Minister if there is a situation of production and trading of fake drugs, foodstuffs and medical equipment in the area.
This peak period is a drastic action to clean up the market, protect people's health and prevent organized crime in the health sector.
