According to initial information, At about 2022, on August 28, patient N.V.K (born in 1989, residing in Vinh Long) was transferred to the hospital with a severed right hand, which had been covered with a blood strip. However, the severed hand was not yet found at the time of admission.
At the Emergency Department, doctors quickly conducted examinations and consultations between the Orthopedic Trauma Department and the Eye Department. The patient was indicated for surgery to reconstruct the big spot on his right wrist and treat the left eyelid wound caused by the impact.
In the operating room, the team shaped the wrist, placed a sealed drain and restored the eyelid wound. According to Dr. CKI Nguyen Duy Anh - Department of Orthopedic Trauma, Cho Ray Hospital, the surgical site has now closed, with little blood clotting, stable vital signs and the patient is being monitored.
As previously reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the evening of August 28, Mr. K. had an accident while releasing a kite in an empty lot in Tan Vinh Loc Commune (HCMC). While playing, the kite rope suddenly wrapped tightly around his right hand, dragging him down, hitting the fence head, injuring the left eyelid. The strong twist from the kite rope severed the right hand, this limb was thrown away and left un marking.
Immediately after the accident, the victim was taken by local people to the Tan Vinh Loc Commune Health Station for first aid and blood collection. He was then transferred to two upper-level hospitals before being admitted to Cho Ray Hospital in critical condition.
Tan Vinh Loc Commune Police confirmed the incident and said the accident occurred when many people were releasing kitchens in an empty area near the intersection of 6B and Lai Hung Cuong Street. The leader of the People's Committee of the commune determined that the initial cause could be strong winds, causing strong storks and causing a regrettable incident.
Accidents are once again a warning about the potential risks of the kite- releasing game, especially when using large kitchens, long ropes, playing in crowded areas or having many obstacles. Experts recommend that people should be cautious, choose a safe location and avoid releasing kitchens in strong winds to prevent similar accidents.
