In recent days, the overload at some departments of Nguyen Dinh Chieu General Hospital (located on Doan Hoang Minh Street, Ben Tre City, Ben Tre Province) has caused many patients to lie in a narrow room or be treated in an airlock.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper at noon on March 30, at the Orthopedic and Internal Medicine Trauma Departments, many patients were forced to lie in the hallway for treatment. A similar situation also occurs in the Neurosurgery Department, where about 6 patients have to lie together in a hospital room, causing the space to be cramped and suffocating.

Mr. Dang Chung Thanh (residing in Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province) - a patient being treated at Nguyen Dinh Chieu General Hospital - shared: "The hospital is always crowded, the hospital beds are always full. The hot weather makes the infirmary hot, especially at noon, the air is even suffocating. Patients sweat easily, making it difficult for them to rest to recover their health.
In a similar situation, Mr. Ngo Van Thia (residing in Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province) said that because the hospital beds in the room were full and there were no empty seats, from the evening of March 29, medical staff arranged him to lie in the hallway for treatment. "Living here, people travel continuously, the noise is endless, making it very difficult for patients to rest," Mr. Thia lamented.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Hue (residing in Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province), who is taking care of his child and is being treated at the hospital, also expressed concern about the overload.
"At the Department of Neurology, the disease prevention is limited, but there are up to 6 patients being treated. Such a space is very stuffy. I hope the health sector will soon have solutions to improve conditions for medical examination and treatment, ensuring a better treatment environment for patients, said Mr. Hue.

Regarding the above issue, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper over the phone on the afternoon of March 30, Mr. Trinh Minh Hiep - Director of Nguyen Dinh Chieu General Hospital - confirmed that there was a local overload at the hospital at times.
Mr. Hiep said that every day the hospital receives 100-200 patients, and examines about 2,000 patients. According to Mr. Hiep, for local overload in some departments at the hospital, the unit has a solution to arrange to put them in a new area for treatment. Compared to previous years, this situation has improved a lot.
