According to information from the Department of Health, as of October 17, Hai Phong recorded 658 cases of dengue fever (572 cases with confirmed tests). Currently, there are 30 patients with dengue fever being treated at medical facilities, there are no serious cases, the rest have been treated. Cases recorded in 89/114 communes and wards; some localities recorded cases exceeding the risk threshold and the incidence rate/100,000 people exceeding the city average (15 cases/100,000 people): Le Chan, An Bien, An Hai, Thanh Dong, ...
Since the beginning of the year, Hai Phong has had 133 outbreaks, of which 17 outbreaks have secondary cases (12.8%). There are currently 14 active outbreaks, including 8 secondary outbreaks (An Bien, Le Chan, An Lao, Thanh Dong, Tu Minh, Cam Giang, Hai An).
BI Index (the number of items containing lentils in over 100 households surveyed) and HI Index (the percentage of households containing lentils) in September 2025 exceeded the safety threshold in many localities: Tien Lang, Hai Duong, Thanh Ha, Hai An, Binh Giang, Cam Giang, Ninh Giang; showing a favorable disease-carrying environment and risk of disease spread.
In the face of the complicated developments of the epidemic, the City Center for Disease Control has just coordinated with Hong Bang Ward to organize a propaganda campaign to prevent and control dengue fever. At the communication session, representatives of the City Center for Disease Control informed about the current epidemic situation, instructed people on how to recognize dengue symptoms early, preventive measures such as cleaning the living environment, killing mosquitoes, mosquito larvae, and insects; and at the same time, promoted the role of each household in proactively maintaining hygiene, preventing epidemics from breaking out.
