On October 16, news from the Hai Phong City Center for Disease Control said that the unit had just coordinated with Hong Bang Ward to organize a conference to promote the prevention and control of dengue fever. Attending were representatives of the People's Committee, ward departments, Hong Bang Medical Center, schools and representatives of residential groups.
According to the disease monitoring system, as of September 20, the whole city recorded 510 cases of dengue fever in 88/114 communes and wards, mainly concentrated in the areas: Le Chan, An Bien, Hong Bang, An Hai, Hai Duong... Hong Bang ward alone recorded 6 new cases in September and discovered 33 locations at risk of mosquito, mosquito larvae, and ticks. The situation of infectious diseases in the area tends to increase slightly.
In that situation, the Ward People's Committee has synchronously deployed many measures to prevent dengue fever to specialized departments, agencies, units, schools and residential groups in the area, thanks to which the ward has not recorded a major outbreak. However, the potential risk of an outbreak is still very high due to erratic weather, the awareness of a part of the people is still not high, some households still have uncovered water containers, and have not regularly washed items according to instructions.

At the communication session, representatives of the City Center for Disease Control informed about the current epidemic situation, instructed people on how to recognize dengue symptoms early, preventive measures such as cleaning the living environment, killing mosquitoes, mosquito larvae, and insects; and at the same time, promoted the role of each household in proactively maintaining hygiene, preventing epidemics from breaking out.
Representatives of Hong Bang Ward People's Committee requested residential groups, unions and people in the ward to immediately take action, carry out general environmental sanitation, remove stagnant water containers, clear forest dust, collect waste, closely coordinate with medical forces in spraying mosquito repellent and monitoring the epidemic situation; propagate and mobilize each household to regularly clean up, kill lentils and rows and proactively spray mosquito repellent in the home and surrounding areas according to the instructions of the Health Station.
