On June 7, at Sa Pa National Tourist Area, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, Sa Pa Ward People's Committee in coordination with the Indian Embassy in Vietnam organized the 12th International Yoga Day 2026 with the theme "Yoga - living healthy over the years".
The program was attended by Mr. Tshering Wangchuk Sherpa, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam, along with representatives of leaders of departments and branches of Lao Cai province and Sa Pa ward.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Dang Viet Dung - Vice Chairman of Sa Pa Ward People's Committee said that the program is a meaningful activity towards the 54th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India (1972-2026), and also marks the 10th anniversary of the two countries upgrading relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
According to Mr. Dung, the positive cooperation results in the past time along with cultural exchange activities and people-to-people exchanges have contributed to strengthening the connection between the two countries.
The organization of International Yoga Day not only promotes the movement of physical exercise but is also an opportunity to promote the image of Sa Pa - a destination associated with nature, health and cultural identity.



The highlight of the program is the "Yoga - Sa Pa in the Mist" performance with the participation of nearly 400 people from 24 Yoga clubs across the country.
The even and flexible movements in the mountain and forest space attracted a large number of people and tourists to watch and cheer.
Through the event, the Organizing Committee wishes to spread the message about maintaining exercise habits, taking care of physical and mental health, towards a balanced, happy and sustainable life.
