Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health issued an urgent document requesting Ba Ria Hospital to quickly report on the process of receiving, diagnosing, treating and monitoring patient treatment. The Department of Health directs the hospital director to urgently establish a professional Council to comprehensively assess the process of receiving, emergency care, and treating patients in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment, and report the results to the Department of Health before October 24, 2025.
At the same time, the Department of Health requested the Board of Directors of Ba Ria Hospital and the social work department to coordinate with relevant departments and rooms to proactively visit and share with the families of the deceased patients, demonstrating the spirit of humanity, responsibility and openness of the health sector.
Previously, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health also established an inspection team led by a department leader to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the operations of Ba Ria Hospital, the inspection period will take place within 1 month from October 20, 2025.
The inspection objective is to point out shortcomings and weaknesses in the implementation of medical examination and treatment tasks and root causes so that the hospital can have measures and solutions to overcome and improve service quality to meet the expectations of local people.
Previously, according to a patient at home, at around 3:30 p.m. on October 12, Q.T. (19 years old, first-year student at a university in Ho Chi Minh City) had an accident at an intersection in Ngai Giao commune, Ho Chi Minh City. After that, T. was taken to a nearby medical center for emergency treatment and then transferred to Ba Ria General Hospital.
The victim's family said that when he arrived at the hospital, T. was not given timely emergency care so he did not survive.
