After 6 days of taking the medicine, his condition did not improve, so Mr. T was taken to Binh Dinh Provincial General Hospital for continued treatment.
After 3 days of treatment at the hospital, Mr. T became worse, had difficulty breathing, and had contracted accessory respiratory muscles. Mr. T was lethargic, had purple lips, had difficulty breathing, and had inflammation and consolidation in the lower part of both lungs...
By dawn on November 7, Mr. T was in a deep coma, had a high fever, poor lung ventilation, and rales... so his family asked to take him home. Mr. T died at home that evening.
The Center for Disease Control of Binh Dinh province sent Mr. T's sample to the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang for testing, and the result was that Mr. T was positive for Influenza A/H1pdm. In conclusion, Mr. T died from Influenza A/H1pdm infection, severe pneumonia with complications of respiratory failure - acute pulmonary edema.
The medical team conducted a community investigation, compiled a list of people who had close contact with the patient, and monitored their health to detect suspected cases early. At the same time, the environment and items related to the patient were treated.
As Lao Dong reported, on October 22, the Center for Disease Control of Binh Dinh province reported that Mr. Tran Van T (born in 1973, residing in Vinh Thanh town, Vinh Thanh district) had symptoms of high fever, headache, body aches, severe cough and died after many days of treatment. Test results showed that Mr. T was positive for Influenza A/H1pdm.

For people with underlying diseases and weak immune systems, when infected with Influenza A/H1pdm, the disease can progress severely, with the risk of death.
This type of flu virus also has the ability to spread quickly, becoming a major epidemic. However, currently, the rate of immunity in the community to this type of flu is quite high. The cases of flu are also mild," said Mr. Truyen.
