On December 21, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association and the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management - Ministry of Health launched the Comprehensive Healthcare Access Program, with a vision to 2030, to build a comprehensive commune with access to quality healthcare services.
According to the proposal of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, universal access to healthcare is a goal that requires a lot of effort to achieve. By combining the right policies, effective investment and the cooperation of the whole society, Vietnam can move closer to ensuring that all people, regardless of geography or circumstances, have access to quality healthcare services.
To ensure comprehensive health care access for all people, it is necessary to implement solutions in a synchronous and strategic manner based on three main directions: policy approach, primary health care approach, and people approach. Each direction plays an important role in building a fair and effective health system.
"The theme of "Comprehensive access to healthcare" is not only a professional concept, but also a key ideology in the new era of the country. This is a combination of advanced science and technology and the spirit of volunteerism, to ensure that every citizen, regardless of geography or circumstances, has the right to access high-quality healthcare services" - Dr. Ha Anh Duc - Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment (Ministry of Health), Chairman of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association emphasized.
The program also identifies five specific goals from now until 2030.
- At least 50% of district-level medical facilities are trained and transferred AI technology applied in screening for lung diseases and other chronic diseases.
- 100% of members of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association are supported, trained and proficient in using AI tools and patient management via apps as well as other advanced platforms of the Central Association.
- 100% of youth members are educated and counseled on pre-marital reproductive health.
- Reduce the rate of tobacco use among young men to below 30% and have no youth members using e-cigarettes
- Piloting the use of medical AI as a pre-screening tool, as a basis for health insurance to pay for chronic disease screening.
During the period from 2025 to 2030, the units will co-organize health partnership conferences, Government and National Assembly dialogues, support programs, equipping and improving grassroots health capacity, and examination programs in remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas.
