In early November 2024, after the Resolution was approved by the Provincial People's Council, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health had a plan (No. 678/KH-SYT) on recruiting health sector officials in 2024, with the number of officials that health units need to recruit is 1,435 people.
The scope of recruitment includes: Public service units under the Department of Health (except for autonomous units with regular expenditures such as provincial general hospitals, Children's Hospitals, Hospital 331 and Medical Assessment Centers).
In round 2 of the exam, candidates will take a written exam to test their professional knowledge and skills.
According to the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health, recruiting medical staff is necessary to meet the new situation and provide health check-ups for people.
Gia Lai province's health sector strives to have 100% of commune health stations with doctors by 2025, with the doctor/10,000 people ratio reaching 9 doctors by 2025. 10 doctors/10,000 people by 2030, 22 nurses/10,000 people by 2025 and 25 nurses/10,000 people by 2030.
Gia Lai also aims to promote the socialization of healthcare and encourage the development of the private healthcare system. The hospital diversifies forms of public-private partnership in the spirit of ensuring transparency and openness; without distinction between public and private sectors in the provision of healthcare and medical services.
Need to tender more drugs that are in short supply
Mr. Truong Van Dat - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council said that in 2024, the unit established supervision teams on bidding and drug supply at public health centers under the province's management for the period 2021-2024.
The monitoring team went to the field to grasp the situation in districts such as: Kbang, Ia Pa, Krong Pa, Phu Thien, An Khe town, Ayun Pa town...
In Krong Pa district, Ayun Pa town, a representative of the Medical Center said that the centralized drug bidding was carried out publicly and transparently, helping Health Insurance to pay conveniently. However, some drugs that were not awarded bids continuously from 2021-2024, such as addictive and psychotropic drugs, have caused difficulties in treating patients.
The representative of the Medical Center proposed that the Provincial People's Council promptly issue a Resolution on regulations on decentralization of decision-making authority in the management and use of public assets and the procurement of other assets, goods and services in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Bidding.
In Ia Pa and Phu Thien districts, centralized drug bidding has had more advantages than previous years, saving time, human resources, and costs for medical facilities.
However, the bidding guidelines are slow to adjust to the actual situation. Some emergency medicine and addictive drugs are not covered by contractors, leading to a shortage of drugs during patient treatment.
Ia Pa and Phu Thien District Medical Centers proposed to the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council that some drugs that did not win the bid should have timely directives to conduct procurement in accordance with regulations, and the list of drugs for bidding should increase both the quantity and quality of drugs.
