On September 22, the Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital (Quang Tri) said that patient P.T.A (born in 2008, residing in Ba Don ward, Quang Tri province) was taken to the emergency room in a state of severe difficulty breathing, with a large, swollen neck due to subcutaneous gas.
According to the family, A was hit in the neck by an electric wire running across the road while driving an electric motorbike. CT scan results showed that the patient's air duct was disjointed, the air overflowed many areas of the neck and mid-unun, threatening his life.
The surgery encountered many difficulties because the patient could not be anesthetized and lay on the back of his neck. Doctors performed anesthesia, opened the neck area, treated the damage and then reconnected the broken tracheum.
The patient's health has now stabilized, and he continues to be monitored and treated at the hospital for recovery.
