The Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) has just issued a document requesting the suspension of circulation, recall and destruction nationwide of the batch of DR. PAPIE Herbal Bathing and Shampooing Water - Box 1, 230ml due to not meeting quality standards for microbial limiting indicators.
The recalled product batch has a receipt number Announcement form: 02/22/CBMP-HY; Batch number: 030425; Production date: April 12, 2025. Expiry date: April 12, 2028
The product is manufactured by Starmed High-Tech Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Starmed Pharmaceutical Group Joint Stock Company is responsible for putting it on the market.
Test results from the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Drug Quality Control and the Center for Disease Control - Tay Ninh Provincial Department of Health showed that product samples taken at the retail distribution system did not meet quality standards for microbial limits, violating current regulations on cosmetics management.
Notably, the enterprise has issued a document reporting on the recall of the above product batch due to the discovery of a percentage of product bottles with packaging defects. However, this recall was carried out after the state testing agency took samples for quality inspection, specifically in September and October 2025.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam assessed that, to ensure safety for consumers, the recall and destruction of violating product shipments needs to be carried out thoroughly, fully and in accordance with legal regulations.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the Departments of Health of provinces and cities to urgently notify establishments trading and using cosmetics in the area to immediately stop trading and using batches of violating products; organize the recall and destruction according to regulations and strictly handle cases of non-compliance.
For Starmed Pharmaceutical Group Joint Stock Company and Starmed High-Tech Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, the Drug Administration of Vietnam requests to continue to review and supplement the full report, and send the recovery and destruction results along with proof documents to the Drug Administration of Vietnam before January 23, 2026.
In addition, the Hanoi Department of Health and the Hung Yen Provincial Department of Health are responsible for supervising the recall and destruction of products; inspecting the compliance with the law in the production and business of cosmetics of related enterprises and reporting the results to the Drug Administration of Vietnam before February 7, 2026.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam recommends that consumers not continue to use the above-mentioned DR. PAPIE herbal bath and shampoo product batch; proactively check the information of the product being used and contact the place of purchase to be guided to return it according to regulations.
