On May 8, Tu Du Hospital organized the Vietnam - France - Asia - Pacific Obstetrics and Gynecology Conference 2025. The conference attracted widespread attention from the medical community with more than 3,000 registered delegates from hospitals, medical facilities, and universities across the country.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ha Anh Duc - Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management of the Ministry of Health said that the field of obstetrics and gynecology is entering an era of innovation and creativity. At the same time, remarkable progress in prenatal diagnosis helps detect birth defects early. Minimum invasive surgical and interventions have significantly reduced the mortality and disease rates of both mother and child.
Reproductive support has also opened up new opportunities for infertile couples. Current digital tools and artificial intelligence help diagnose and consult remotely.
However, in parallel with these advances, the health sector still faces many challenges as the maternal and newborn mortality rates are still high in some areas, including Vietnam.
The health of mothers during pregnancy and after giving birth has not been fully monitored, diagnosed and treated properly. This is the reason why international cooperation becomes important.
Mr. Ha Anh Duc hopes that the conference will create a high-quality academic forum where domestic obstetricians and gynecologists have the opportunity to access world medical advances, share clinical experiences and promote advanced health care standards in the field of obstetrics and gynecology in Vietnam.
The conference also held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of Tu Du Hospital becoming the first European-standard placental intervention center in Vietnam. Doctor Tran Ngoc Hai - Director of Tu Du Hospital said that this certification is recognized by the International School of Obstetrics, Neonatology and Reproductive Health Medicine - PREIS (Italy).
At the same time, the Ministry of Health also issued a decision approving 5 newest fetal intervention techniques, recognizing a major step forward in the field of fetal medicine in Vietnam.

Within the framework of the conference, there were 14 international reporters and more than 50 in-depth reports presented, focusing on topics of high practical and updated significance such as gynecological endoscopic surgery and minimalist invasive treatment; prenatal diagnosis and modern fetal intervention techniques...
Previously, Tu Du Hospital and Children's Hospital 1 coordinated to successfully open the heart and intervene in 6 fetal cases with severe congenital heart disease.
