200 patients successfully transplanted
On August 2, the launching ceremony of medical equipment "personalized 3D printed PEEK skull transplant" - the first domestic product licensed for circulation by the Ministry of Health, opened a new direction for the precision medical transplant industry in Vietnam.
This is a research achievement of the leading expert group, Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Duy Thin, after nearly 3 years of developing custom-made transplant technology using PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) biological material.
Optimal points of Peek-based skull scraps in clinical applications. In Vietnam, every year, thousands of cases of diseases leave foster core defects due to accidents, brain tumors or surgery.
Meanwhile, traditional treatment methods still have many limitations: autologous skull transplantation is at risk of bone loss, subsidence, with a high complication rate of up to 37%; Handmade Titanium Grid skull transplantation in the operating room has low accuracy and aesthetics, easily causing disruption when taking magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
The personalized PEEK 3D printed pieces of Y Sinh Ngoc Bao Joint Stock Company are considered the optimal solution with many outstanding advantages: High bio-compatibility, easy to assemble, accurate skull recovery, unlimited size and suitability for all skull regions - even difficult locations such as complex facial skulls.
On July 4, 2025, the Ministry of Health officially granted a circulation license for this device with the commercial name "Criminal scalp assembly made from PEEK material", code 2502433DKLH/BYT-HTTB.
The product is printed in 3D according to CT image data of each patient, ensuring absolute accuracy in size and shape, and can be sterilized and ready for use in surgery.
The highlight of this manufacturing process is that patients do not need to go to the manufacturing facility but only need to send data to the bone marrow deformity area. After a maximum of 2 weeks, he will receive the device that matches the defective area and needs to reform his figure. Because it is a personalized device, the surgeon operates easily, shortening the patient's surgery and hospitalization time.

To survive in the body, the quality of material products is especially valued.
