On September 7, Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health had test results of 11 food raw material samples taken at Bin Bin Business Household (An Khe ward), detecting Salmonella spp. bacteria in 3 food samples.
Previously, An Khe Ward Health Station took 11 samples of food ingredients still stored at Bin Bin Business Household, including: pate, floss, dried chicken, braised pork, spring rolls + cold cuts, fried fish cakes, egg butter sauce, cucumber, herbs...
All samples were handed over to the Sub-Department of Food Safety and Hygiene to be transferred to the Gia Lai Provincial Center for Disease Control for testing.
In addition, An Khe Medical Center took specimens from a patient in the suspected poisoning case and handed them over to the Sub-Department of Food Safety and Hygiene to transfer to the Tay Nguyen Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology for testing.
As a result, the specimen was positive for Salmonella spp. Salmonella spp. is a bacteria that often causes acute digestive diseases with symptoms of diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, nausea and vomiting.
Through the above results, functional agencies concluded that this was a food poisoning case, the cause of poisoning was food contaminated with Salmonella spp bacteria.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, there were a total of 254 patients coming for examination and treatment with suspected symptoms of food poisoning such as abdominal pain, vomiting, fatigue...
By 13:00 on September 3, 2026, all 254/254 cases had been treated stably and discharged from the hospital, with no deaths recorded.
In the period from August 23 to August 24, 2026, An Khe Medical Center recorded many cases of people buying mixed bread at Bin Bin Business Household to use and showing signs of suspected poisoning.
Patients successively showed symptoms such as abdominal cramps, diarrhea, vomiting many times, fever and sporadically came to An Khe Medical Center for treatment.
