Previously, on the night of September 7, the Stroke Department, Khanh Hoa General Hospital received a foreign tourist in a serious condition due to a brain stroke.
The patient is paralyzed in the left half of his body, muscle strength is only 1/5, reduced sensation in the left half of his body, blurred nose and cheek folds, slurred speech and loss of language.
MRI results determined that the patient had an occlusion of the central brain artery in the right M1 branch, acute right hemorrhoid infarction due to thrombus. The patient also had a background disease of atrial fibrillation causing arrhythmia.
Immediately after the emergency consultation, doctors activated the cerebral vascular intervention procedure to remove the blood clot.
Through DSA images, the team recorded a blocked blood clot at the end of the M1 branch of the middle cerebral artery. Doctors then proceeded with the technician to suction the blood clot to block the artery.
The intervention ended at 2:00 AM on September 8th, the patient's cerebral artery was completely reopened.
Only after one day of treatment, the patient's condition improved significantly. The muscle strength of the left half of the body from 1/5 recovered to 5/5. The patient said clearly, walking is stable and communicating normally.
After a week of treatment, the patient was discharged.
