Ready for the new school year
Storm No. 5 passed, Huong Lien Kindergarten was not damaged. However, heavy rain and strong winds caused the leaves to fall, the school mobilized all teachers to clean, sanitize, and decorate to prepare for the school's solstice and the opening day of the new school year 2025 - 2026.
In particular, although it has been put into operation for 1 year, the 2-storey, 4-room school building that the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund sponsored to build is still new, spacious and sturdy.
This is a project with a total cost of more than 4 billion VND and started construction in November 2023. Of which, the Golden Heart Social Support Fund sponsored 2.8 billion VND (70% of the project value), the remaining 30% of the cost was invested by the People's Committee of Huong Khe district using the counterpart budget.
Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Hoa - Principal of Huong Lien Kindergarten - said that in the 2024 - 2025 school year, thanks to the 2-storey, 4-room school building sponsored by Lao Dong Newspaper and the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund, the school's teaching work has improved, achieving many very encouraging results.

Honestly, without the sponsorship of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund, with the intensity of the recent storm, it would be difficult for the school to survive. With facilities and classrooms like this, I am confident that in the coming school years, her and our students will continue to achieve many proud results, constantly improving the quality of education in this mountainous commune, Ms. Hoa shared.
Ensured boarding, work-safe
A few hundred meters from Huong Lien Kindergarten, in 2022, the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund also sponsored the construction of the Huong Lien Commune Boarding House with a total cost of 2.8 billion VND. Of which, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund sponsored 2.2 billion VND, the remaining 600 million VND was matched by the investor, the Ha Tinh Provincial Federation of Labor.
The project consists of 10 rooms with bathrooms, toilets, kitchens... completed and put into use from the end of 2022, meeting the boarding needs of many cadres and teachers working away from home in remote and disadvantaged areas of Huong Lien commune.
On August 28, teacher Dinh Thi Hang Mo (29 years old, teacher at Huong Lien Primary School) shared that after nearly 3 months of summer vacation, she just returned from her home in Quang Tri province (old Quang Binh) to school, and started cleaning up the boarding room at Huong Lien Commune Boarding House to prepare for the new school year.
"Over the past 3 years, thanks to the boarding house sponsored by the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund, I have had a place to rest and work with peace of mind. The room is spacious, has closed hygiene, ensuring good function for me and my young children to live and work, thereby feeling secure away from home. It must be affirmed that this is a very meaningful and wonderful project. I always secretly thank the sponsor for building this project, Ms. Mo shared.
Mr. Phan Quoc Thanh - Vice Chairman of Phuc Trach Commune People's Committee - said that after storm No. 5 passed, the 2-storey, 4-room school building at Huong Lien Kindergarten and Huong Lien Boarding House that the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund sponsored to build was still safe and steady in the face of the storm.
According to Mr. Thanh, the two projects sponsored by the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund are very meaningful and practical, contributing to improving the quality of education in disadvantaged communes.
