The Nang Mau 2 Canal route brought us back to the memories of April 2024. While working, Ms. Dau mentioned that in the past, the road was seriously degraded, the rocks and soil were patchy, the reporter felt a bit uncomfortable when working for the first time, but said that people had to travel here every day to get to school and the market. Thanks to the Golden Heart Social Support Fund and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor's sponsorship, in August 2023, the road officially started construction, the construction unit made efforts every day to build a new, spacious and spacious road.
"The happiest thing is that the road to completion in time for Tet for the people to gather together, then in April 2024, we welcomed the leaders to inaugurate, and once again reminded them of the indescribable rewards. So how can we forget, why not cherish it, Ms. Dau said emotionally.

Each day brings joy to the banks
Helping connect Thoi Hung and Dong Hiep communes (formerly Co Do district and Thoi Lai district) is the Kenh A7 bridge, inaugurated in early 2023. After more than 2.5 years of use, the bridge not only helps people in the two communes travel and transport goods more conveniently and safely, but is also a driving force to promote the development of transport infrastructure, improve the quality of life and create momentum for sustainable socio-economic development in the locality.
Mr. Lam Van Trung - Vice Chairman of Thoi Hung Commune People's Committee - said that since the bridge was inaugurated and put into use, people have been very excited. The bridge not only serves transportation needs, but also contributes to completing the transport infrastructure network, promoting socio-economic development in the locality. We sincerely thank the Fund for its support. This is a valuable source of motivation to help the locality continue to develop, Mr. Trung added.
According to Mr. Trung, investing in building bridges not only helps ensure traffic safety, especially for students during the flood season, but also plays an important role in connecting residential areas, facilitating trade, and connecting the community.
In addition to the Duong Go canal Y bridge project in Thuan Hoa commune, Can Tho city (formerly Phu Tan commune, Chau Thanh district, Hau Giang province) inaugurated in October 2023 sponsored by the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund, the appearance of the countryside once known as the "oasis commune" has also changed, especially in the early morning and evening, crowded with vehicles traveling across the bridge, spanning 3 branches of the river.
"I used to participate in sports activities at school because my roads were difficult to travel. When the bridge was rebuilt, I boldly practiced sports with my friends. In the coming Tet, I will also have an easier time going out because I have bridges and lights" - Nguyen Thanh Hoa, a student at Le Hong Phong Secondary School - shared.
The journey to bring us back to the 3 bridges of Dia Muong, Ba Bich, and Ngon Tra Esch (Can Tho City) was completed in 2022. In particular, the Ngon Tra safety bridge has helped thousands of farmers connect to trade conveniently, many children go to school safely without fear of falling into the river during the rainy season as before.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Truong Long Commune - informed that the construction of the Ngoon Tra Esch bridge supported by the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund has contributed to the criteria for building a new rural commune to improve and move towards a model new rural commune, increase the number of rural traffic bridges to connect canals and ditches, serve socio-economic development, and change the face of the countryside. The locality will continue to coordinate with the Trade Union to bring many meaningful projects closer to the people.
The Nang Mau 2 canal route (Long My town, old Hau Giang province, now Long Binh ward, Can Tho city) has a total investment of 4.8 billion VND, of which the funding capital of the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund is 3.4 billion VND, the local budget matches 1.4 billion VND. The total length of the route is 5,355m, 2.5m wide and 12 locations serve as bus stops. The surface structure of the M250 cement concrete road is 10cm thick.
The A7 Canal Bridge (connecting Thoi Hung and Dong Hiep communes of Co Do district and Thoi Lai district of Can Tho city) has a scale of level IV traffic works with a total cost of more than 2.4 billion VND. Of which, the Golden Heart Social Support Fund sponsored more than 1.7 billion VND, the rest was contributed by the People's Committee of Co Do district. The bridge is designed with a length of 33m and a width of 4.4m.
The Duong Go Canal Y Bridge (Phu Tan Commune, Chau Thanh District, Hau Giang Province; now Thuan Hoa Commune, Can Tho City) has a total construction cost of 2.1 billion VND, of which the Golden Heart Social Support Fund sponsored 1.5 billion VND. The bridge is designed with 3 branches, with a total length of 66m, a width of 3.7m, and a load capacity of 2.5 tons.
The three bridges of Ngon Tra safety, Ba Bich and Dia Muong (formerly Truong Long commune, Phong Dien district, Can Tho city) have a total investment of 1.5 billion VND. Of which, the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund sponsored 71%, Phong Dien District People's Committee matched 29%. All 3 bridges are designed to be 3.5m wide and have a load capacity of 2.5 tons. Of which, Ba Bich Bridge is 27m long, Dia Muong Bridge and Ngon Tra Esch Bridge are all 23m long.
