As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 5:30 pm on July 18, 2026, a particularly serious labor accident occurred at the pig farm of Dabaco Thanh Hoa Co., Ltd. (Truong Giang village, Thach Quang commune, Thanh Hoa province).
According to initial information, during the repair of the electrical system in the fertilizer filter area, a worker unfortunately fell into a hole. When many other workers came to the rescue, they were suffocated and could not escape. The incident killed 5 people and injured 2 others. The cause of the accident is currently being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
After the painful incident, on the afternoon of July 22, on behalf of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Golden Heart Charity Fund, Ms. Ho Thi Kim Ngan - Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor visited, encouraged and presented a support amount of 10 million VND to the family of Mr. Tran Dinh Cong (born in 1998, residing in hamlet 5, Doc Tin, My Duc, Hanoi).
The money was directly given to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai (born in 2003), Mr. Cong's wife.
In the small house, Ms. Mai choked up about her hardworking husband, always striving to work to take care of the family. The couple has been married for more than a year and has an 8-month-old child. Previously, both worked at the company, but after giving birth, she quit her job to stay home to take care of her young child, all living expenses depend on her husband's income.
Before returning to work at the company, he also promised to visit the two mothers and children a month later. Because of the nature of the job and the desire to save for his children, every time he comes home, he only stays for one day and then rushes to travel more than 70 km from early morning to be on time for work. No one thought that would be the last time the family meets him," Ms. Mai choked up.
Moved by the timely concern and support of the Trade Union organization, Mr. Tran Dinh Su (Mr. Cong's father) sent his deep thanks to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Golden Heart Charity Fund.
According to Mr. Su, the family mainly lives on a few acres of rice fields. Now the main breadwinner is gone, while the grandchild is still too young, life ahead will face many difficulties...
Sharing the losses of her family, Ms. Ho Thi Kim Ngan expressed: "The labor accident took away a child, husband, and father when they were very young. This is too great a pain for the family. The small gift from the Golden Heart Charity Fund and the Trade Union organization cannot compensate for the loss, but hopefully it will partly share the immediate difficulties, helping the family take care of the funeral for Mr. Cong. I hope the family will soon overcome the pain, maintain their health to take care of the young child and stabilize their lives.
