On the afternoon of December 19, representatives of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund (XHTT) together with the Can Tho City Labor Federation (LDLD) and the Trade Union of Can Tho Urban Joint Stock Company visited and presented money contributed by readers of Lao Dong Newspaper to Mr. Le Thanh Tri - the character in the story LD 24080: Can Tho male worker paralyzed on one side published in Lao Dong Newspaper on November 4, 2024.
At the visit, representatives of the Golden Heart Social Security Fund and the Can Tho City Labor Federation presented 12,650,000 VND from Lao Dong Newspaper readers to Mr. Tri.
Receiving the money, Mr. Tri was moved and expressed his sincere thanks to the readers of Lao Dong Newspaper and the Golden Heart Social Fund. With the money, Mr. Tri and his family will manage the medical expenses and continue their treatment in the future.
"Since the accident, I have been to many places for treatment. Thanks to health insurance, the total cost of treatment is only over 100 million VND, but I still have to worry about medicine. My parents are old and their circumstances are difficult. Receiving support from readers of Lao Dong Newspaper and the Golden Heart Social and Charity Fund, I have more motivation to overcome my illness. I will also try my best to practice physical therapy and eat well to improve my health," Tri said emotionally.
Ms. Dinh Thi Tu (73 years old, Tri's mother) said that Tri is the breadwinner in the family, but with his current income, he can only make ends meet. He can only pay the hospital bills with the help of the company's union, relatives, and benefactors.
"Now with the additional support from Lao Dong Newspaper readers, I am very happy, especially near Tet when Tri has to take care of his illness" - Ms. Tu added.
Can Tho City Labor Federation said that the money from readers of Lao Dong Newspaper and the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund to help Mr. Tri is very valuable in the current difficult family situation.
