Huynh Le Kien Van (born on January 10, 2023) is a cute, lovely, and Obedient baby, the child of female union member Le Thuy Duy (working at the Department of Health Education and Communication - Can Tho City Center for Disease Control).
I thought that with the love of my parents, my child would be healthy, strong, and be able to go to school like so many other children, I didn't expect...
"I took my child to the doctor and was surprised to learn that he had leukemia, my family was very devastated... still, I had to be resilient, try to take care of him, do everything for him, because he was everything..." - Ms. Duy choked up.

The female union member shared that her family's circumstances were difficult, and the couple did not have a house, so they rented a house in Cai Rang district, Can Tho city. Both paternal and maternal grandparents were old and could not help much.
Since the outbreak of the disease, the child has been treated at the Department of Clinical Hematology, Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital. Doctors said that the cost of treatment for the child was very high (estimated at about 500 million - 1.2 billion VND). Ms. Thuy Duy's husband also had to quit his job to have time to take care of the baby.
"I never thought my child would be seriously ill, and was even more shocked when the cost of treatment exceeded the family's ability. My husband and I really hope that our kind-hearted families and colleagues will join hands to support our children to overcome this disease" - Ms. Duy excitedly said.
Talking to Lao Dong, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ly - Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Health Sector Trade Union - said that through research and information gathering, Ms. Thuy Duy is an enthusiastic female union member, dedicated to work and the trade union organization, and is loved by her colleagues. The couple had just gotten married not long ago, had their first child and unfortunately suffered from a serious illness, the union members in the industry sympathized.
"The Can Tho Health Sector Trade Union is working with the Can Tho Center for Disease Control Trade Union to call for and mobilize benefactors to help union members treat their child's illness. With such a large amount of treatment costs, we hope to receive many donations from readers near and far from Lao Dong newspaper" - Ms. Ly said.
On February 25, 2025, speaking with Lao Dong newspaper, Ms. Le Thuy Duy (Kien Van's mother) said: "In the past, the help of organizations, individuals, philanthropists, philanthropists... has helped the family overcome difficulties, cover hospital fees and buy medicine to treat Kien Van. However, during treatment, little Kien Van became seriously ill and died on February 22, 2025".
Therefore, Lao Dong newspaper would like to stop receiving support for this case.
