Novak Djokovic surprised fans by announcing Andy Murray as part of his coaching team in November 2024. Murray was Djokovic's biggest rival in tennis' Big Four, and the two rivals teaming up is unprecedented.
At the 2025 Australian Open, Murray helped the Serbian reach the semi-finals before Djokovic withdrew due to a thigh injury. After the tournament, the pair have not decided on their future and there is much speculation about ending their partnership.
However, The Times has just reported that Murray is still in Djokovic's team, aiming for two major tournaments of the year: French Open and Wimbledon.
Next up for them is the Qatar Open in Doha next week, but it is unclear whether Djokovic has fully recovered from his injury. In March, the Serbian star will play Indian Wells, a tournament taking place in California.
Some regret that British star Emma Raducanu has yet to find a new coach. She has been without a permanent coach since the 2025 Australian Open, when Nick Cavaday stepped down due to health reasons.
British tennis fans hope British icon Murray will team up with Raducanu, but that may be difficult.
Raducanu and Murray had a conflict at Wimbledon 2024, leading to her decision to withdraw from the mixed doubles event. It was Murray's last tournament before he retired, leaving a big regret of not being able to compete for more titles.
