Rafael Nadal will make one of his final appearances before retirement at the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion confirmed last week that he will retire after playing for Spain in next month's Davis Cup Finals in Malaga, Spain.
Both Nadal and Djokovic lost in the semi-finals to Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, so they will meet in the third-place match. Experts have attached many adjectives to this match such as "heroic battle" and "great war" as usual, although everyone knows that at their age, the tension will not be as high as before.
At another performance event, fans can witness the exciting game of "friends" after competing for many years.
When asked how he was able to be friends with Roger Federer during and after his career, Nadal also mentioned Djokovic, the 22-time Grand Slam champion said he believed he could get along with his rivals because they shared the same values.
"Of course with Roger it's special but with Novak too, I have a good relationship," he said, "That's how you approach this sport.
I think it's possible because in the end, we understand that this is just a game. In life, we have more important things than tennis.
Ultimately, if you have a good relationship with your coworkers, with the people around you, or with people in general, in my experience, you will definitely be happier.
So tennis is just a game, relationships go beyond that."
As for Djokovic, he has said a few times that it is "impossible" to be friends with Nadal, because of the competitive nature of their rivalry, but "never enemies".
"Even with him [Nadal], friendship is impossible. I have always respected and admired him a lot," Djokovic told Corriere Della Sera.
"We have never been friends. Between rivals, that is impossible, but we have never been enemies."
