According to VNA, on June 19, Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Huy Dung said that it is expected that the first 37 Vietnamese citizens from Israel will evacuate to Egypt on June 20 through the Taba road border gate on the Sinai Peninsula, in the context of the conflict between Israel and Iran continuing to escalate dangerously.
Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung said that, implementing the direction and guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on implementing the protection of citizens affected by the Israel-Iran conflict, the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt has actively developed a plan, urgently working with Egyptian authorities, as well as the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel on welcoming Vietnamese citizens evacuated from Israel to Egypt by road through Taba border gate on the Sinai Peninsula.
It is expected that the first group of Vietnamese citizens from Israel will evacuate to Egypt through the Taba border gate on June 20.
Embassy staff will be present at the Taba border gate to complete related procedures and pick up citizens evacuated from Israel.
According to the Ambassador, in order to serve the evacuation of citizens as well as officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel to return home, the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt has urgently discussed and worked with relevant Egyptian agencies to arrange and carry out evacuation procedures through the Taba border gate on the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt.
Of these, about 10 will stay in Egypt, the rest will return to Vietnam.
While the military conflict between Israel and Iran shows no signs of cooling down, many countries around the world have implemented plans to evacuate their citizens from Iran and Israel.
