The citizen protection bulletin of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the night of July 28 stated clearly: Regarding the search and rescue of ship Khoi Nguyen 18, according to information from Vietnamese functional agencies, as of the afternoon of July 27, 2026, 48 people have been rescued.
Vietnamese functional forces have handed over all the people rescued by the Chinese side and received medical care.
Currently, all 48 people are on their way back to the mainland" - the news report stated.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that on July 26 and July 27, functional forces from all sides made efforts to urgently deploy search and rescue, care and medical support for victims.
Despite big waves, strong winds, and rough seas that make search and rescue work difficult, Vietnamese functional forces are still persistently deploying efforts to search for the remaining people with the highest determination.
