The latest storm and low pressure news from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on January 12 said that a low pressure area may form in eastern Mindanao this week.
This potential low pressure area is likely to moderately strengthen into a tropical depression and will be named "Ada".
After forming, the new low pressure area is forecast to gradually move to the mainland Philippines, with widespread rainfall to many areas in the country.
PAGASA weather forecasters said that at least 3 weather systems are affecting the Philippines.
Accordingly, breaks of wind affect the eastern areas of northern and central Luzon, the northeast monsoon affects the rest of northern and central Luzon, and the east wind affects the weather in other areas of the Philippines.

Also on January 12, PAGASA's storm and low pressure forecast bulletin until January 25 said that forecast models see low pressures forming in the southeast of PAGASA's TCAD forecast area in the week from January 12 to January 18.
This low pressure area is forecast to enter the Philippine Forecast Area (PAR) and head towards the Caraga - Eastern Visayas region, with the possibility of strengthening into a storm at a level from moderate to high.
The news also said that the system with the potential to strengthen into a storm near the Philippines will maintain operation for the week from January 19 to January 25.
During this forecast period, the system moves close to the eastern area of Eastern Visayas and Southern Luzon before circling northeast to the sea. Similar to the previous period, this system is still likely to strengthen into a storm at a moderate to high level.
