The latest hurricane report from the US National Hurricane Center says Hurricane Gabrielle has winds of 120 km/h and is located 515 km southeast of Bermuda.
The storm is moving north-northwest at a speed of 17 km/h and is expected to pass east of Bermuda on September 22.
"Although the impact is still decreasing, those interested in Bermuda should continue to monitor forecast updates as some of the wind and rain impacts are still possible," the bulletin said.
Strong winds at typhoon level will extend up to 35km and strong winds at tropical storm level will extend up to 280km from the center of the storm.
The center's top hurricane forecasters say Gabrielle will continue to strengthen from "stable to fast" over the next few days, and it is likely to become a major hurricane early this week and then weaken in the northern Atlantic Ocean over the weekend.
Gabrielle is forecast to turn more northward on September 22 and then move faster east to northeast on September 23.
Regardless of how Gabrielle moves, the storm's large waves will continue to affect the weather in Bermuda and the east coast of the United States, from North Carolina to the northern part of the country, early this week.
