At the invitation of the Central Executive Committee of the Singapore People's Action Party, on the morning of August 24, Politburo member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and the high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam left Hanoi Capital for an official visit to Singapore, co-chairing the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Singapore People's Action Party from August 24-25, 2026.

The official visit to Singapore and co-chairing of the Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue by Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu is of special significance with the first milestones. This is the first time a Standing Secretary of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam has officially visited Singapore. This is also the first meeting of the Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue mechanism, which was just agreed upon by the leaders of the two sides during the State visit to Singapore by General Secretary and President To Lam in May 2026. Vietnam is the first country in Southeast Asia to have a mechanism similar to the Singapore People's Action Party.
