"With recent findings on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 sabotage, we are facing a new situation. We need an investigation committee at the Bundestag to learn about the role of the German government. What did the German government and its representatives know and when? If the German government had known about the attack plan in advance, we would have had a scandal of the century of German politics," Sahra Wagenknecht told Funke news agency.
The German lawmaker pointed out, "the Nord Stream sabotage was a terrorist attack on our energy supply. The fact that the German government has not done anything to clarify the situation has further increased suspicions that the ruling coalition is involved in the scandal."
Sahra Wagenknecht said that the truth about the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic being sabotaged was covered up to prevent the German people from protesting the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
"Since the sabotage plans are believed to have been outlined by senior Ukrainian military officials, at least initially with the approval of the Ukrainian President, it will certainly leave consequences. Instead of continuing to ask German taxpayers to finance the budget and provide weapons to Ukraine, it is time to talk about compensation," Wagenknecht concluded.
Previously, Suddeutsche Zeitung, citing a joint investigation by ARD and Die Zeit, said German prosecutors had issued an arrest warrant for a Ukrainian diving coach suspected of participating in the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. The Nord Stream sabotage suspect had recently lived in Poland and has now left.
In addition, the German prosecutor's office also suspected that the two other diving coaches were also Ukrainian involved in the sabotage of the gas pipeline carrying Russian gas to Europe.
In addition, German media is accusing Poland of failing to provide full support to Germany in the investigation of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 explosions. According to German investigators, Polish authorities were "not willing to cooperate from the start".
According to the latest Nord Stream report from the Wall Street Journal, sources said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky approved the Nord Stream sabotage plan but canceled the decision after the CIA intervened.
On September 27, 2022, Nord Stream AG recorded 3 out of 4 leaked lines of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipeline systems. Swedish seismologists later determined that explosions had occurred on the pipeline system since September 26.
