The citizen protection bulletin on August 27 of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs clearly states:
Regarding the serious flash floods and landslides that occurred in the border area between Nepal and China on August 26th, causing many deaths and missing people, according to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in China and the Vietnamese Embassy in India concurrently in Nepal, so far, no information has been recorded of Vietnamese citizens being affected.
Previously, immediately after receiving information about the incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed Vietnamese representative agencies in the region to urgently contact functional agencies and local community focal points to verify information about the situation of Vietnamese citizens, the possibility of citizens traveling, visiting... here at the time of the disaster.
The Vietnamese Embassy in China and the Vietnamese Embassy in India concurrently in Nepal are continuing to closely coordinate with relevant agencies and local Vietnamese community focal points to closely monitor the situation, update information and be ready for emergency protection measures in case of detecting Vietnamese citizens in distress.
