According to pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel, the attack at night (local time) caught fire at the Feodosia oil facility. The fire could be seen from tens of kilometers away.
Some explosions also appeared at nearby Russian airports, Saki and Kacha.
Feodosia oil station is located about 250km from the Ukrainian control area, the largest fuel storage depot in Crimea, with a capacity of up to 250,000 tons and supplying fuel to Russian forces.
According to the General Staff of Ukraine, this facility is a multi-functional transit point, used to transport oil and petroleum products by rail, sea and road.
Ukrainian forces also attacked an ammunition depot of Russia's 18th General Confederation of Labor's logistics battalion in Crimea, but the damage is still being assessed.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had intercepted 251 Ukrainian UAVs overnight and early morning on October 6 (local time), of which 40 were shot down in Crimea.
The last time Ukraine attacked the Feodosia oil depot was in October 2024, forcing local authorities to declare a state of emergency.
The new attack comes as Ukraine intensifies its campaign against Russia's energy infrastructure.
The shortage of fuel is getting worse across Crimea in general and Sevastopol in particular, with about 50% of gas stations stopping selling gasoline, according to Russia's Kommersant newspaper on September 24.
Citing data from 17,000 gas stations, Kommersant said that the Southern Federation of State - including Crimea - is one of the most severely affected areas, with more than 14% of stations having to stop selling fuel.
The shortage comes after a series of Ukrainian UAV attacks on Russian refineries in August.
