The world's richest billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk accompanied US President Donald Trump on a visit to China, along with his son X Æ A-Xii, nicknamed "Lil X".
Lil X attracted attention when appearing next to Elon Musk at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, wearing a Chinese-style embroidered vest and a tiger-shaped crossbody bag. Elon Musk's young son was assessed by Chinese media as looking both mischievous and calm in a solemn political space.
Photos of the father and son were taken when Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with top US business leaders here. While Elon Musk wore a dark-colored vest, Lil X's outfit caused a stir on Chinese social networks, with many users praising the boy's traditional costumes inspired by China.
A user commented on the boy's appearance, causing Elon Musk to answer in Chinese: "My son is learning Mandarin".
Chinese media reported that the tiger-shaped bag, designed by a handicraft fashion brand in Guangxi, was sold online for more than 300 yuan (44.22 USD). Sales surged after images of Lil X wearing this bag appeared on the Internet in China.
Elon Musk regularly takes Lil X to public events. This technology billionaire has previously appeared with his son at the White House and also introduced some of his children to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a meeting last year.
