According to Vietnamese Ambassador to India concurrently in charge of Nepal and Bhutan Nguyen Thanh Hai, the State visit to India by General Secretary and President To Lam is very important.
First of all, this visit is of historical significance, as it is the first time a General Secretary, President of Vietnam has paid a state visit to India. In particular, the visit took place not long after the 14th Party Congress was successful and the Vietnamese National Assembly consolidated key leadership positions. This shows Vietnam's high respect for India, a close friend and comprehensive strategic partner" - the Ambassador said.
Second, the visit takes place right on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2016 - 2026). In the context that both India and Vietnam are rising strongly and the world and regional situation is undergoing many profound changes, the visit is an opportunity for the leaders of the two countries not only to look back on bilateral relations over the past 10 years but also to jointly shape cooperation between the two countries in the new period.
Third, the visit is an opportunity to further tighten the relationship between the leaders of the two countries and the relationship between the two ruling parties. This is also a very good opportunity to strengthen comprehensive connections between ministries, branches, localities of the two countries and between businesses operating in various fields, including technology companies, startups, and innovation centers of the two countries.
It can be said that the State visit to India by General Secretary and President To Lam this time is expected to create new momentum, open up a larger space for cooperation and elevate the Vietnam - India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the new era, commensurate with the potential and position of the two countries in the region and in the world, bringing practical benefits to people, localities, and businesses, contributing to realizing the development goals of each country and making positive contributions to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and in the world" - the Vietnamese Ambassador to India emphasized.
According to Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai, the foundations built after 10 years of establishing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership have created favorable premises for the two countries to develop relations more strongly in the coming time.
In addition to continuing to consolidate the areas of cooperation that have been established, the two sides need to strongly promote new areas of cooperation that meet the needs of each country in the development process. Promote innovation cooperation to take advantage of the opportunities created by the technological revolution and digital transformation. In addition, create frameworks and forums on innovation for relevant ministries, sectors, businesses, technology associations, and startups of both countries to strengthen cooperation in breakthrough new fields such as high technology, digital transformation, digital economy, green economy, renewable energy, semiconductors and artificial intelligence.
Continue to promote the pillar of economic, trade and investment cooperation. In which, the two sides need to have strong measures to expand markets for each other, increasing bilateral trade turnover even more commensurate with the scale of the market and the economies of each country.
The Ambassador also said that the two sides also need to increase the number of direct flights. The advantage is that airlines of both Vietnam and India want to increase the number of flights.
