Billionaire Elon Musk has deleted two of his most controversial posts on social media X related to President Donald Trump, following a heated debate between the two on June 5.
By the morning of June 7 (US time), the article in which Elon Musk accused Trump of having a name in the Epstein file had disappeared. Users searching for this article only receive a notification that, "the post has been deleted".
The above article is considered the main cause of the controversy between Mr. Musk and Mr. Trump. Billionaire Musk once described this as a "real shakeup" and said that Mr. Trump's name in the document related to Jeffrey Epstein was the reason for the information not to be widely published. Jeffrey Epstein is an American billionaire who was accused of being a prostitute and committed suicide in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial.
Another post on June 5, in which Musk publicly supported the message "Mr. Trump should be impeached" and said that Vice President J.D. Vance should replace Mr. Trump, was also deleted. This move was assessed by observers as a sign that the tension between the two sides is showing signs of cooling down.
However, in his speech on June 6, President Trump denied the possibility of reconciliation with Mr. Musk. Responding to reporters about whether he intends to talk to Mr. Musk again, Mr. Trump said: "I have no plans. I don't really care about that, because what I care about now is the country and solving the problems."
However, Mr. Trump said he has no intention of getting back the key symbol that the White House once gave Elon Musk: "I don't get everything back. I gave him a key, he tried so hard.
Once one of the largest donors to President Donald Trump's election campaign, Elon Musk was assigned to lead the Government Efficiency Board (DOGE) when Mr Trump took office. However, the relationship between the two sides began to crack after Elon Musk left DOGE after 130 days and publicly criticized the Republican superb tax reduction bill worth $4,500 billion.
Despite the strained relationship, Republican congressman Jimmy Patronis is optimistic that Elon Musk and Trump will soon reconcile.
