Two oil tankers of the Caspian Oil Pipeline Corporation (CPC) have just been attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at the Black Sea port.

On July 30, TASS reported that the CPC reported on a new UAV attack targeting 2 oil tankers at the group's port near Novorossiysk, Russia.

CPC said that at 1:48 am on July 30 (Moscow time), the oil tanker NIFFOS SIFNOS flying the Marshall Islands became the target of the attack while transporting the oil block of Tengizchevroil (a company belonging to Chevron) and carrying out oil unloading at offshore oil anchorage No. 3 (SPM-3) of CPC.

The attack caused a fire in the area of oil filling pipe clusters on the deck. The fire was then controlled by the crew with the support of 3 CPC service ships.

According to CPC, the incident did not cause casualties to group employees or contractors, and there was no oil spill incident.

The ship is still floating and is undergoing damage assessment. Oil discharge operations have been temporarily suspended, but CPC's pipeline system is still operating normally.
