Korean prosecutors have indicted former President Moon Jae-in for bribery, Reuters quoted the Spokesperson of the Korean Public Prosecutor's Office as saying on April 24.
In late March, Yonhap reported that South Korean officials had summoned former President Moon Jae-in for questioning as part of an investigation into bribery allegations related to the appointment of his ex-son-in-law at a Thai airline.
Accordingly, the Jeonju District Prosecutor's Office announced the summons of former President Moon Jae-in in February. The former president was summoned for bribes through Thai Eastar Jet's appointment of Seo, the ex-husband of Moon Jae-in's daughter.
The prosecutor's office accused Moon Jae-in and his daughter Da-hye of receiving payments related to the appointment of Seo.
Mr. Seo took on a position at Thai Eastar Jet after founder and former two-term congressman Lee Sang-jik was appointed as the head of the Korean Business, Small and Enterprises Agency.
