The FBI identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as a suspect in the assassination of former US President Donald Trump on July 13, local time.

Suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks was killed by US Secret Service agents just a few seconds after firing at the stage where Donald Trump was speaking in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Reuters reported that voter data shows that Thomas Matthew Crooks is a Republican, old enough to vote in the US presidential election on November 5.

Thomas Matthew Crooks lives about an hour's trip from Butler. On July 14, the US Federal Aviation Administration announced that it had closed the airspace above Bethel Park for special security reasons.

According to the 2021 Federal Election Commission, when he was 17 years old, Thomas Matthew Crooks donated $15 to Act Blue - a political action committee to raise money for Democratic politicians. Agents from the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Zinc and explosives were present at the scene and a bomb disposal team was also present. The police have blocked off the house. A alleghany County police car was parked outside the house.

According to Reuters, it is not yet possible to immediately identify social media accounts or online posts related to the person who assassinated Donald Trump. Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has not responded to whether the platform will delete any accounts related to suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks.
