Agents from the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Zinc and explosives were present at the scene and a bomb disposal team was also present. The police have blocked off the house. A alleghany County police car was parked outside the house.

According to Reuters, it is not yet possible to immediately identify social media accounts or online posts related to the person who assassinated Donald Trump. Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has not responded to whether the platform will delete any accounts related to suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks.
