On June 16, a source familiar with the matter said that the Iranian air defense force had shot down another Israeli F-35 stealth fighter, marking the fourth time that information about the shot down by this Israeli fighter jet had been released.
The F-35 is believed to have been shot down near Tabriz in western Iran and the pilot was arrested after parachuting.
Iran's state broadcaster confirmed that Tehran has won the title of "the first country in the world to successfully shoot down the 5th generation of fighter jets" of the Israeli government.
According to preliminary information, the plane was detected by air defense systems and attacked with precision missile fire. Iran has promised to announce details about the successful operation later.
However, Iranian authorities have not provided any evidence, while images that are believed to show the F-35s previously shot down have begun to circulate on social media sites.
For its part, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) completely denied the above information.
Also on June 16, the IDF even confirmed that it had attacked an airport in Tehran, destroying two F-14 fighters - the fighter jets that Iran is said to often use to intercept Israeli aircraft.
The Israeli military continues to claim that a plot to launch an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has also been extinguished, and that the Tehran soldiers planning this operation have been destroyed.
Meanwhile, Colonel avichay Adraee, an IDF spokesman, accused the Iranian media of spreading false and baseless information.
