On July 15, the Iranian military announced that it had conducted unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attacks targeting a US military base and strategic targets in Jordan.
According to an official announcement from the Iranian military, the attacks were carried out in response to US attacks on Iranian territory.
Iranian suicide UAVs targeted F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet shelters, soldier dormitories and a large US military weapons depot at Al-Azraq airbase.
The Iranian military affirmed that all actions against its territory, sea and airspace will be retaliated against. The statement also said that in recent days, Iran has conducted 6 rounds of UAV attacks targeting US bases and military facilities in the region, and affirmed that it will continue these operations until final victory is achieved.
On the same day, the Jordanian military said that the country's air defense forces intercepted and shot down 3 ballistic missiles flying into Jordanian airspace from Iran. The operation was deployed according to approved combat and defense plans to protect borders, airspace and people. The incident did not cause casualties or property damage.
The Royal Jordanian Engineering Corps has handled missile debris that fell at many locations according to technical procedures, security, sealed off the scene and deployed necessary measures to protect people and property.
The Jordanian army affirmed its opposition to any acts of infringing upon sovereignty or using its airspace in a way that threatens the security and stability of the kingdom.
