On November 19, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said an Israeli airstrike in the city of Sidon had killed 13 people and injured many others. Israel said its forces attacked armed elements believed to be operating in a training area in the Palestinekmkmkmkmkmkm.
Hamas condemned the attack and confirmed that the Israeli military's accusations about the "training area" were fabricated. The organization said the hit site was an outdoor sports field serving people in the camp and there were no military facilities in the Syrian refugee camp in Lebanon.
The Israeli military currently maintains five air posts in Lebanon and regularly conducts airstrikes in the south of the country, allegedly targeting Iran-backed Hezbollah or some Hamas members.
There is a ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hezbollah last year, according to which Lebanese armed forces are not equipped with weapons in the southern region and Israel must completely withdraw from Lebanon. However, new developments have led to questions about the level of compliance with the agreement from both sides.
