Israel declares defeat of Major General in charge of Iranian Guard intelligence forces

Israel claims to have killed the head of intelligence of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

On April 6, Israel announced that it had killed the head of intelligence of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The intelligence leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is Major General Majid Khademi.

Israeli Defense Minister - Mr. Israel Katz - announced: "The Revolutionary Guards are firing at civilians and we are eliminating terrorist leaders. Iranian leaders live in the feeling of being targeted. We will continue to hunt down each person one by one".

The Israeli Defense Minister also added that Israel has "seriously damaged" Iran's steel and petrochemical industries and "we will continue to destroy Iran's national infrastructure".

The death of intelligence Major General Majid Khademi took place in the context of April 6, when the US and Israel launched a series of attacks on Iran that killed more than 25 people and Iran responded with missile launches into Israel and neighboring Arab Gulf countries.

Explosions rang out in Tehran and the sound of low-altitude aircraft could be heard for hours when the Iranian capital was bombed. Dense black smoke rose near Azadi Square in the city after an airstrike hit the campus of Sharif University of Technology.

Iranian media confirmed that among those killed in these attacks was intelligence major General Majid Khademi.

Meanwhile, Iranian missiles hit the city of Haifa in northern Israel. Two people were found dead in the rubble of a residential building and search forces are continuing to search for 2 more people.

Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have all activated air defense systems to intercept Iranian missiles and drones.

Also related to the Iranian conflict, US President Donald Trump warned that if an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is not reached, the US will attack Iran's power plants and other infrastructure targets.

In an effort to end the fighting, mediators from Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey have sent Iran and the US proposals calling for a 45-day ceasefire and reopening the Strait of Hormuz to have time to find ways to end the conflict.

The proposal was sent on the evening of April 5 to both Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff. Iran and the US have not yet responded to this proposal.
