The event gathered ambassadors and business leaders from France, the US, the UK, Germany, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore and major trade unions of Europe, North America and ASEAN.
Operated by VINCI Airports (France) with the participation of global partners such as ATKINS, Heerim Architects, Changi Airport (Singapore) and contractors from Cambodia, France, China, KTI airport in the south of Phnom Penh capital is expected to completely change the traffic - tourism - investment landscape of the land of the tower pagoda.
Techo International Airport is a symbol of Cambodias progress, affirming its role as a new center of tourism, trade and trade in Southeast Asia, said Mr. Pung Kheav Se, Chairman of OCIC Group and Cambodia Airports Investment Company (CAIC).
The project is developed by CAIC - a joint venture between OCIC and the State Secretariat for Civil Aviation (SSCA), a model public-private partnership result bearing the mark of "Cambodian identity on the international stage".

Director of the Cambodia Tourism Authority Minea Kim emphasized: Techo will be the first image that tourists will see when coming to Cambodia - a place that reflects the hospitality and creativity of the Khmer people.
Currently, KTI serves 31 airlines, 44 direct flights, 130 take-offs and landings per day with about 13,500 passengers. SIA Engineering (Singapore Airlines Group) cooperates in providing maintenance and repair services, helping KTI become a regional aviation technical center.
Since its operation, KTI has welcomed a series of international airlines: Etihad Airways opened the Abu Dhabi - Phnom Penh route (October 4, 2025); Turkish Airlines will open the Istanbul route (December 10, 2025); Air Cambodia - a national airline - is preparing to operate the Tokyo route from October 26, 2025.
The airport is designed by Foster + Partners (UK), combining modern architecture with the quintessence of Khmer culture. The highlight is the 9m high Abhayamudra Buddha statue and more than 200 handmade stone sculptures by local artisans. The entire project applies green standards and energy saving, reflecting Cambodia's commitment to sustainable development.

When put into comprehensive operation, Techo International Airport is expected to create jobs for 10,000 workers, three times more than the old airport.
This is not only a "launching pad" for the capital Phnom Penh - a city on the Mekong River that is struggling with a system of high-class hotels, restaurants and entertainment areas - but also a gateway to Cambodian heritages and tourism attractions such as Phnom Da, Angkor Borei, the southern coast and a chain of ecological and high-end resorts such as Raffles, Hyatt Regency, Rosewood, Shinta Mani Wild.
With a capacity of 13 million passengers/year, Techo Airport is expected to bring Cambodia into a new chapter of integration and development, affirming its position as an emerging aviation hub of Southeast Asia.
