Venezuelan leaders thank Vietnam for support in overcoming earthquake disaster

On June 29, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodríguez sent thanks to Vietnam for its solidarity and support for Venezuela in difficult times.

According to VNA, speaking to the press, the head of the Venezuelan Government affirmed: "The government and people of Venezuela highly appreciate Vietnam's sending a delegation of 124 rescue workers, thereby significantly strengthening search, rescue and support activities".

Vietnam is one of 30 countries that have sent rescue teams to Venezuela to carry out rescue operations. This information was announced by Acting President Delcy Rodríguez at the establishment of the General Staff on the construction of temporary camps and housing construction planning.

Ms. Delcy Rodríguez said: "I would like to announce that we are still continuing the rescue of survivors. This brings many emotions and hope, hope for the families of the victims, for the people when witnessing the tireless work of the Venezuelan rescue force and international rescue teams".

At noon on June 29 (local time), the special plane carrying the Vietnamese delegation participating in rescuing and overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in Venezuela, including 124 officers and soldiers of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security, landed at Maiquetia International Airport, La Guaira State, Venezuela.

Welcoming the delegation at the runway were Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto, Deputy Foreign Minister Mauricio Rodríguez Gelfenstein, Senior Lieutenant General Jonás Gerardo Páez Cabrera, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense of Venezuela, and a large number of representatives of leaders of Venezuelan ministries and departments.

On the side of the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela were Ambassador Vu Trung My, Defense Attaché Vu The Trung and staff of Vietnamese diplomatic missions in Venezuela.

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto emphasized: "From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to send our most sincere thanks to Vietnam. On behalf of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the Government and people of Venezuela, I would like to send my sincere and deep thanks to the Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam, especially to General Secretary and President To Lam.

Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto affirmed that the presence of soldiers of the Vietnamese armed forces participating in rescuing and overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in Venezuela is a vivid proof of the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Venezuela and Vietnam.

Visiting the Vietnamese delegation immediately after stabilizing facilities to deploy tasks, the Minister of National Defense of Venezuela, General Gustavo Lopez, expressed his deep gratitude for the good deeds of the Vietnamese armed forces; believing that the friendly and comprehensive partnership between the two countries in general and the armies of the two countries in particular will continue to be consolidated and developed.
