4 boats capsized in China, 9 people died

The boat capsize occurred in Kiem Tay city, Guizhou province, southwestern China on the afternoon of May 4.

There were 9 people killed and 1 person missing in the boat capsize on the Luc Xung River on the afternoon of May 4, Xinhua News Agency quoted information from local authorities.

The report said that 4 boats capsized due to unexpected strong winds, causing 84 people to fall into the water.

According to the local rescue headquarters, so far, 9 people have died, 70 people are being treated and are in a state of no danger to life, 4 people are uninjured.

The search for a missing person continues.

The Guizhou provincial government has deployed nearly 500 emergency response forces, including police, firefighters and medical staff, to coordinate rescue efforts.
