The fire started from the Lingguan main hall, a large Buddhist monastery in Mien Truc, Duc Duong, Tu Xuyen, at around 12:30 on December 10.
It took firefighters 4 hours to extinguish the fire, but by then the tower and the palace had been completely destroyed.
The burned tower was built during the Ming Dynasty and collapsed during the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. When the fire broke out, the restoration of the tower was still underway.
The main cause of the fire at the tallest wooden tower in Asia has not been found. Currently, the authorities are opening an investigation. There were no casualties in this fire.
